Girlfriends

In a world of self-promotion, let’s promote & encourage & brag on each other.

Check out these women who will make your feeds & lives brighter:

Jamie B. Golden

If I was going to claim an internet best friend, it would be Jamie every time.

You’ve heard me talk about The Popcast & the Bible Binge. She’s the co-host of both podcasts which are my favorite go-tos when I need to turn my brain off & just laugh, laugh, laugh.

What you might not know is that she is also a skincare & beauty guru. She will tell you what to splurge on & which dupes are just as good as the luxury lines. I’ve sent several questions to her DMs and gotten ACTUAL VOICE ANSWERS back from her. But no promises that will happen for you as she is my BFF.

Lucretia Berry

Besides being incredibly intelligent, Lucretia is one of the most passionate people I know. As an anti-race/ism curriculum specialist, she helps us recognize the lies that live between us so we can reconcile as one human family. In addition to education, Brownicity also offers community, support and safe place to courageously ask questions and challenge the things we’ve always believed to be true about people.

When she speaks, I listen. When she writes at Incourage, I read it. And when she prays, I feel it. Lucretia is the real deal & her passion will move you.

Kim Honeycutt

Kim is a psychotherapist who started a mental health ministry called icuTalks which gives regular people a platform to share their stories of pain & God’s redemption, from minor setbacks to the most horrific curveballs life can throw. She is ending the stigma of mental illness and starting in the church, where it may have one of the tightest strongholds. Her ministry is bringing freedom, providing healing & giving everyone the space to feel normal whether they come in with general anxiety or a diagnosed mental illnesses.

You can find her on on every social media platform plus her podcast, Hear Voices, linked on my video page. If you tell her I sent you, just remind her that I’m still the funny one.

Shamyra Parker

This gem of a friend is a helper for the helpers. Her current focus is on educators & school counselors, teaching compassion fatigue & burnout prevention so teachers will understand the importance of caring for themselves as they pour into our children.

Shamyra is a proponent of self-care and an activist for mental health, dishing out mental makeovers to those who would benefit from a mindset shift. She is an easy person to support because she is willing to support so many with her gifts.

Carlee Megan

My favorite Enneagram 7, Carlee is a girl of all trades. She will be your personal cheerleader and support you wherever you are. If you need small business or creative coaching, she’s got a power hour to inspire & focus your goals. If you’re struggling with disordered eating, she can help you break up with diet culture. If you’re looking for a fun girls night, she’s got creative workshops that will engage your friends and bring people together.

She posts all kinds of self-care guides and recipes that are yours for the taking. This is a girl you want on your side and, lucky for us, she never runs out of people to cheer for….that includes you!

Heather Boersma

Letters from a Big Sister is a collection of advice from strong women sharing things they’ve learned as they’ve grown up & found themselves in Christ. Even if you have 13 actual big sisters, is there ever an overabundance of sisterly encouragement?! This book is exactly what this Girlfriends section is all about. I’m so proud of you, Heather, for speaking the truths our younger sisters long to hear.
